UART pin 6 doesn't have an analogue connection but required PCFG to be set? (wreeve)

I am using a PIC24F08KA102 20 SOIC pic and the XC16 v 1.24 compiler; no optimizations. The UART RX pin is pin 6 and there are no PIC analogue inputs on that pin.In order to get the UART to receive data I have to set AD1PCFG = 0xFFFF;I have yet to track do..
